Tricia Everest

Growing up in Oklahoma City, Tricia Everest is a fourth-generation Oklahoman. In 2003, she earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. She went on to serve as Oklahoma's Assistant Attorney General from 2004 to 2010. Since 2021, Everest has overseen the state's law enforcement agencies, homeland security, and justice system as Oklahoma's Secretary of Public Safety. Everest also served as chair of both the RESTORE Task Force and the MODERN Justice Task Force, which Governor Kevin Stitt assembled to make recommendations for justice system reforms.

In addition to her work in Oklahoma's government, Everest has founded two nonprofit organizations: ReMerge and Palomar. ReMerge, founded in 2011, diverts mothers from prison and helps them to break cycles of addiction and incarceration by providing support for recovery. Palomar, Oklahoma City's family justice center, has been providing free services since 2017 to aid victims of crimes. Additionally, Everest has volunteered with several other nonprofit organizations including the Inasmuch Foundation, YMCA, and Allied Arts. She has received multiple awards for her efforts including Oklahoma City University's Distinguished Philanthropy Award and the National Crime Victims' Service Award.

Everest has dedicated herself and her career to the betterment of Oklahoma. She has worked hard to improve the state's justice system and to aid and protect Oklahomans. Through leadership and public service, Tricia Everest has made a lasting impact on Oklahoma's people and future.
